I tried two approaches to a sunflower. The one on the left is how I would usually do it. The one on the right is an experiment. Opinions?

That’s a tough one Deb . I like them both! The colors and values are so believable. Sunflowers are so hard because they each have a ‘personality’. If i had to chose- i like how you treated the green on the right and the flower on the one on the left.
Both look lovely. I would settle for either one. I like the greens and the interior color (I think future seeds) part of the left and the looseness of the petals on the right.
Man, that’s a tough one. Decisions… I think I have to combine the two as well, for different reasons. As I face them, I like all the found and lost edges and the movement of petals and greens on the left, but I like the deeper and richer colors and values of the center of the flower of the one on the right.
