Several days with sketch, paint, then highlight… I see that a dark background might work better

I think you got a lot of beautiful texture in this piece. The stems look smooth and the leaves at the left and the area around the base of the flowers look more crisp. I really like it!
I love the many different textures and undulating leaves and stems in this. I think you captured the nature of the individual greenery, but at the same time unified it with those rich greens. While a dark background may have brought out the flower blooms more, the light background focuses my eye on that greenery which is so beautiful. Maybe you need two takes… no answer is wrong… The real question will be which one will YOU like best?

Nice strong values on the plants and a feeling of being in and coming up from the plant box.

I really like the way you painted the amaryllis…it has attitude. I also think the touch of outlining is very effective.
You are mastering flowers! This is a pretty complex arrangement to tackle. The background you’ve painted adds a lightness/softness to the painting.
This is neat, a bit Abstracty $ loose.
You do good with flowers.
