I started with some collage pieces I had made which made the start easier. You may or may not see the botanical focus…I did intend for it to be botanical. I really like the looseness and energy of this one and think I will continue to use this process.. it feels more like me than #2 which I did really quickly with a pot of flowers in front of me.

I really like both of these. The first one does look botanical to me, largely because of the color, but the lines and shapes contribute too. Lovely!
Number 1is my favorite too! You get the botanical feeling from the colors, but also your shapes and brushwork. The upper left quadrant fascinates me. The textures are so interesting , from scraping maybe? Anyway, love the look.
As always your colors are beautiful. I like both paintings for different reasons. The looseness in the 1st, I see flowers & leaves plus your color choices. The 2nd I think is fun, again loose and I like your treatment of the ground plane with the lines.
#1 is striking! I love the yellow/ oranges with the red/ violets. The texture and rich paint application as the colors undulate front to back definitely give it an organic feel to me. The green on the right and upper left further emphasize that and make a nice dark to focus the eye.
I love them both! Part of the beauty of #1 is the flower essence. I see an iris bouquet. The shapes of green leaves and their placement is perfect. The pink rose petals are so delecate!

I’m a big fan of multi-media and this is a beautiful representation of botanicals. The texture of the strokes and depth of the color is so rich. I like both a lot!
#1 is my favorite. It sounds and looks like you’ve found a good path by beginning with the collage to lead you into more of what you’re looking to accomplish. Yay.
