This week I copied Charles Reid, then tried to apply all I learned to my own paintings. So hard to do! #4 is my original, in case you can’t tell!

Looks like you had a great time with the 30/30. I’ve always liked your work and you have a great feel for watercolor. Your original is beautiful. I’m sure you have incorporated some subtle changes from this last month. I’ll be interested to hear about what you found.
Les
Rose, all are beautifully done. Your colors are wonderful. I would never know the difference between your copies and your original. All perfect in my eyes.
These are all lovely. My favorite this week is number 1. There is a nice cozy feeling about it, with the view and snow outside, and the flowers on the windowsill inside. It makes me want to be there. The colors you used for the snow and house are really effective!
Yikes Rose. I know figures aren’t what normally attract you, but I love what you’ve done with #3. The rich loose color in the flesh is wonderful. I love your rhythms in the hair, and the shoulder totally lost… great stuff. Maybe you’ll want to do more figures, eh?
You reallly picked a great challenge and met it admirably. Your original has something different about it. I’m not sure if it’s a self confidence, or a sense of freedom…whatever it is, I like it. It’s especially noticeable on the table plane to me.
You’ve demonstrated such skill this past challenge! The watercolors that you copied must have been very challenging. Your number 4 deserves as much praise and admiration as the others!
