This week I took an online class “Drawing for Beginners” and found it to be quite helpful. We learned how to hold the pencil, (something I was surprised I did not know about) draw lines, circles, and shapes that could be used as the basic forms for any object. The unfinished practice sketches shown here all began with these simple shapes taking form.
Happily I am off the waitlist and this coming Tuesday I will join Condensed Right Brain Drawing classes being held locally that meets weekly.

Looks and sounds like the beginners drawing class was a inspiring. It’s nice you get to do an in person class for the right brain, have fun. I look forward to hearing about it, have fun.

It looks like you’ve got this. Your birds are wonderful. Enjoy the class!
Good for you to be diving into drawing! No matter where you go in art, it will serve you well.
I really enjoy your tulips! I like your use of hard and soft line.
Drawing is a great skill. It will help you in any direction you go. I love your tulips. Good ellipse in the vase, too.
It’s great that you are doing an in person class of Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. I’ll bet you’ll make incredible progress. I can’t wait to see what you do. I really like the first bird…i love it when artists don’t finish things completely as you did with the foot.
What a great job! Flowers can be so challenging, yet you rendered the tulips beautifully. And the birds…I love them! They are very sweet! The bird that appears in flight is so expressive.
