A tree in progress. I’ve been drawing this grand old tree on the town green for the past few days. The paper is grey and rough textured. I intended to add pastels but decided to stay with pencil.

A tree in progress. I’ve been drawing this grand old tree on the town green for the past few days. The paper is grey and rough textured. I intended to add pastels but decided to stay with pencil.
I like it with just the pencil. You’ve conveyed the texture of the bark and the way the roots merge with the ground. It looks like a very majestic tree!
The tree has so much personality and a feeling of getting ready for winter.
