Welcome back to oils Ads! You certainly haven’t lost your lush bold color combos. I love the rich horizontal bands of turquoises and greens in your first painting…gorgeous! The brilliant light reflection in the water by the posts is beautiful and brings home a feeling of late sun on a summer day.
I also really love the boat. I love love love color, and this one has it! The soft blue/gray background really shows it off. Both pieces are just lovely.
The first one feels so lush and I want to go through the posts and toward the shore.
The oil looks like you got the feeling back, maybe some palette knife, feels free and the colors are wonderful.
Actually she’s only half back. One is a Tombow and the other is my first attempt with oils in a year. After two complete wipeouts I went to something simple. Even that took awhile.

Both paintings feel as though they were painted in the evening for some reason. There’s an end of the day peacefulness. I love the boat!
Oh Adrienne! That boat!!! Wow! It is an absolutely gorgeous painting! Both paintings are so pretty but the boat really stands out for me. The composition is excellent, the colors, brushwork, and reflection! I love everything about it!
Sunflowers bring so much happiness! I love how the flowers tip off the edges and really love how you captured the transparency of the glass vase, and the green is so yummy!
Adrienne, the boat is so vibrant, love all that orange brushwork! The blue background really makes the boat pop!

She’s back! Your Tombow studies really helped you carry those bold compositions and colors to oils. I love them!
