I’m trying to keep things simple and light for the plein aire group at camp this year. So, I’ve been experimenting with papers, color palatte and set up gear. This is a little gouache I did on rough watercolor paper sitting in the sand at the beach. Rocks and Bush…
Very interesting with the texture, looks like a whole different medium. Great to see your experiments, inspires me.

If I was a student I would find this interesting but not overwhelming, which sounds like what you were going for. I like your clear surfaces and your handling of the shrub. Your color is so pretty without being too bright. What brand of gouache are you using? I might have to try it.
Simple is not always easy. This is. Very nice composition and I love how you were able to see the beauty and shapes in something most of us would miss
I like so many things about the painting. Shapes, composition and color blend beautifully. There is such harmony.
Keeping it simple, let me know how. I like all the bright varying colors and directional strokes. Very effective.
I love the way you’ve abstracted the landscape with shapes of color. Simple but really effective.
