We actually had a warm day this week so I snuck off on my first adventure. Everything went perfectly except I was planning to paint through the window of this house. When I set up I realized the pesky occupants were sitting at the table drinking coffee so I needed to swing my easel 90 degrees and look elsewhere!
Sometimes people just don’t cooperate!!!! Nice scene anyway and great to capture that spring yellow.

Really like this, the flowers are bright and alive. I looked quick at first and thought it was a photo.
I think the change of plan worked out well-the flowers (forsythia?) are beautiful, and really pulled me into the rest of the scene. The water and reflections are a lovely secondary focus. Beautiful!
Beautiful Margaret. Great composition and color… The yellow, yellow greens and violets work so well. I also love the strong pattern of light… It feels like late day on a gorgeous Spring afternoon.
I love this…the composition with those small diagonals. The contrast of the shock of yellow with the more muted blues and violets is wonderful. You can feel the freedom you were feeling while painting this!
The stillness of the water and the glowing flowers in the foreground is just beautiful! Whoever lives there is a lucky duck!
