What a series you have been working on! They all evoke such happy feelings and moments. A favorite passage for me is the group of figures to the right in #2. I just love how they are one with their surroundings. So nice
That merry-go-round!!! To me each of these expresses a definite emotion-joy, tranquility, fun (and maybe courage). I think the oil and cold wax is a great medium for you!
The merry go round says pure joy to me! You’ve created a lot of good memories with this series.
I was able to bring up the merry-go-round and it captures the movement of the horses, the sounds of the organ music, and special childhood memories. Your paintings of oil and cold wax are just wonderful!
Gosh Susan, I love the color palette and all the texture in your brush strokes. This does evoke such joyfulness, capturing the memories and sounds from being a kid at the fair. It is just beautiful! I’m not sure why, but I’m only able to load the merry-go-round and wish I could see them all. I’m sure they are all just as spectacular as this one!
