The 2 black and white have several layers of collage and paint on them. I’ll sand and possibly add more collage and sand again. The idea (ala Louise Fletcher) is to build up an interesting background for a painting. It’s all an experiment.
# 8 is a redo from last week, which I like better and #9 is just playing with composition on paper.

That top one with the blue dots is very interesting….found myself going back to look at it more than a few times
9 is my favorite, the textures are very appealing to me.
I love the blue dots on 8 and the patterns and color on 9. I really like your black and white pieces too, and I can see Louise’s influence in them. Did you read her newsletter about MOMA? I found it honest and refreshing.
I keep going back to #9. I love the way your forms and colors fade to the foreground and that bit of negative space on the right and orange line brings my eye around. I’m enjoying hearing about the process… You give these pieces history …
I just think these are all fabulous! I would love to see them in person! You can feel the richness of color and texture in all of them. If I had to choose I’d say #8. Im also drawn into #6. Can’t wait to see how you finish the black and white ones.
I’m pulled into #9 my eyes want to move around it.
