These are far from finished paintings. I’m trying to see what I do and don’t like and what direction I want to go in for the time being. I’m also focusing on shapes and values. They always seem to turn into flowers, but I’m really not sure that’s what I want to do.

I love how your greens really contrast with the pink/orange shapes(that may be flowers) and make them pop. How did you ever choose the right greens??
Your colors and textures are so beautiful. I love the thick, thin, scrape and lush pieces of paint. Whether they are flowers or not is immaterial for me. The luscious backdrop lead my eye around to beautiful colors and interesting shapes.
I feel the same way. I like what you’ve already created with the texture and colors
I understand about wanting to try something different, but your flowers are lovely, and I like the way you keep your greens muted.
Delicate and beautiful as always! You don’t need to call them flowers but name the shapes instead.
Great you’re just going for it. Maybe you’re seeing flower shapes because you’re looking for them. There are so many other things going on in your work, that other people might see something totally different. I’m get a feeling of vibrancy and aliveness and love the color palette.
#2 is just beautiful! Even though it is abstract, there is such depth and a the sense of wild flowers peeking through the leaves.
