This is another exercise we did in the class on glow. We painted the same image twice. The first is toned cool and we were to paint on warm. The second was toned warm and we were to paint on cool. It was an interesting exercise. I sometimes tone… but rarely cool. It makes you realize how big an influence it can have on your color choices!

Very interesting how it does make quite a difference.

What a difference! The mood and time of day is so unique in each of the paintings. The blue one feels light, cheerful, like morning. The other is peaceful, reflective, has a sun setting glow. Very sweet paintings
The second one says Susan did this! The contrast of warm and cool is subtle but makes a huge difference. As always, the variety of your colors makes it so interesting to look at.

Susan , very beautiful, each one ! It’s surprising what influence color has , I guess , on everything
The class you’re taking has you doing such interesting things! These are both beautiful.
That’s a great exercise and, as always, a great figure painting!
AMAZING what a difference toning a canvas from cool & warm make. I would have never thought. Great figure also.
