This is such a beautiful print! The lines and textures you captured are so rich. How do you do a mono print? I have to say, I would love some fabric made out of this print. Can you picture a chair covered with it? Yes!
It would make great fabric, I agree! In brief, you need a printing plate and brayer roller. I have a Gelli plate. You put paint on the plate, roll it to cover the surface, then put down what you want to print. I got leaves from my yard, laid the vein side on the paint, then pressed a piece of paper over. This gives you a white blank on the paper where the leaves are. Then remove the leaves, press the paper back onto the paint in the same place, (this picks up the veining of the leaves) and that is your print. You can only get one, and that’s why it’s a monoprint. Each is unique. You can also draw in the paint, use stencils and anything with texture, and so on. Most of my prints are going into collage, but some are nice on their own. When I did these years ago, I used a thick piece of plexiglass instead of the Gelli plate. That’s long gone though. This was not too brief after all!

I just got a gelli plate and some wet strength tissue paper, so thank you for directions on how to do a mono print. This is beautiful., I’m not sure about using oils on the plate but will try. Acrylics are probably better. I’ll have to do some experimenting, but its fun!
This is beautiful and i love how you are experimenting with all these new techniques!
Very pretty, love the pattern. I don’t know what your doing or how you do it but it’s wonderful.
Great way to capture fall.

It does look like a tapestry. Reminds me of some of the old pieces of fabric that were in my great aunt’s house years ago. I love it!
