I had a chance to get back to finishing my ‘starts’ from camp. I mostly tried to calm things down and punch in some darks. The marsh was from roque bluffs which was a 70% wipe out but I didn’t want to lose it so I tried to simplify my ideas and dull it down a bit. The foggy day turned out to be so beautiful !

Margaret these are so strong and beautiful. Your powerful darks give them a design look and set off your colors wonderfully. My favorite is your first, the color combo is gorgeous.
I like all of them. Something about the first one really calls to me. I think it might be the atmospheric element that you caught so beautifully. The soft colors are very peaceful.
I thought the drastic change in the weather and tide height allowed complete artistic license at the bluffs. Thanks for the use of the viewing toy. –Patty
Hi Margaret, sorry to have missed you this year. I always enjoy looking at your work. Their all great, I’m liking the reflections in the water in #3. Looks like it had to take a lot of concentration to get that down.
Margaret, your use of darks and lights lend such power to your paintings. I especially like the contrast of dark greens and lighter pinks in the first one. Also the contrast in the rocks in the last one is great….love the cool blues in your backgrounds.

I look at them and can feel “Maine”, thanks.

Love these all! The pieces of color are so fresh and clean. I really get a sense of those days… that time and place. Wonderful.
