I did a color study to try to figure out where to go next. It is a bit addictive but I will prevail. Maybe I can use a bandsaw and cut out the color one and glue it to the big one ? ! Have a great week 🙏🏻

This is a picture of my great grandmother and great uncle from a black and white. I’m trying a limited Ander’s zorn palette -cad red light, yellow ochre, ultramarine, raw umber and white . I will probably add black.  The drawing is so hard and her eyes keep moving...

 Master drawing copies are so fun and meditative as you slowly make shapes and hatch marks. It’s good to look at them side by side to see how on or off they are! Masters were brilliant in their design, shapes and composition.

This is a still life I did last weekend. Â The first was from life and I labored over it for 2 days. Â The second was from a photo that took about an hour which I like better. My new best friend :burnt umber!Â

The week caught up with me …. this is a work in progress that I’m having fun with..slowly building up layers with scumbling. It’s huuuuuge 18×24 so I think I’ll be at it for a while .
