I tried using pastel sand paper and it was harder to manage the pastels. Experimenting with different paper makes a difference regardless of the medium, so the learning curve continues for me.  The iphone adds more values, so the real thing is a little more murky...

This week feels messy when I got to working on the values for the trees. I may have taken on too much too soon yet I’m finding in this one, I  like how the dust has added some depth to the field and the edges alongside the path.

Here are two pieces I worked on: one I vacuumed to remove the pastel dust and the other I didn’t. Can you tell which one is which? ☺️.  Any suggestions on how to gently remove it so it doesn’t remove layers of color that have been added to provide depth...
