This is a color triad. The dark background is very deep green, the petals are red-violet, and there’s a tiny bit of orange in the stem and flower center.  I think I’ll try more of these different color options for a while to see what I like.

I used violet, red-violet, red, and orange red. I always seem to paint with color and complement, so I thought I’d try something different.

Monochromatic. I used burnt umber and white. This is the roofline of North Bennington station, (about 18 years ago) with lightning rods and a phone pole.
