This is Cade’s Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains. I wanted to work on varying greens. I need to keep working-there’s not as much variety as I hoped for.

Here’s a work in progress from last weekend. They only hang the flag Memorial Day and July 4 so I try to make a pilgrimage every year

This was an assignment to paint an ugly painting.  The  point was not to be afraid of failure.  As it turned out I actually kind of liked it.  It could use more work, but probably won’t get it.  I’m starting a 10week course which is supposed to change my painting...
