The three paintings I did this week were all in gouache. The first one is from the painting lesson I did with susan and the second and third ones are based off of pictures!

I’m with Susan, my favorite this week is number 3 and again I like the others with the strong shapes and pieces colors and values.

Nice works Piper. All three are so different. The 3rd is dynamic, the colorful sky with the sun coming through is great. The big blocks of color on the second say it all. Wish I were on that beach right now under the tree. Makes me feel warm. You do so well with the gouache, you make me want to go back and try it again.
I really like #1 this week. Your still like feels abstracted to me and I really like the mark making. You have a strong feel for shapes which is great since so many of us get caught up in the details. The color in # is wonderful!
Hi Pieper! I really like your big bold color and shapes. I was drawn in first by your #1 abstract painting, and I also love the way you captured all of the magical colors in your #3 sunset painting.
My favorite is number three, as well. The contrast between the solid black hillside and burst of sky color is powerful.
