These are two examples of my first attempts at getting back to painting after a summer of no painting. The first is a little acrylic study which I thought was the best of several I did. The second is my first attempt at getting back to oils in preparation for Maine. Ugh!! They are such different mediums. The color is a bit better in real time, but lets hope I improve.

Glad to see you back. I like the brushwork and feeling of connection in the oil.

I love the color and chunkiness of your paint in the top one. I see a woman holding a child in the bottom one! Looks like you’re ready for Maine!
I like the lush brushstrokes of color. The second one has a beautiful montage of grays. The dark line literally “hooks” you and pulls you into those petals.
I love the gold one, as well, and agree with Deb about a woman holding a child in the second one. Both are really nice.
