Wow Jane, this really brings the feeling of climbing that snowy slope, I feel being tired and out of breath!
Les
I agree. Your snowy tree and person climbing are really beautifully done and descriptive. I want to touch those branches! (I have a recurring dream of struggling up a steep icy slope – this could be an illustration of it).
Such an interesting subject. I can feel her frustration and determination as she moves forward! I love how you treated the snow and shadows
I too love the challenging feel in this painting as well as the spectacular setting. Such determination is inspiring… Is this from a personal photo?
This is from a small sketch I had done on site while my sister and I were snowshoeing in the White Mts. I , many times tried to do a painting from it, but this was the first one that really worked to get the feeling.
The steepness of the hill and her struggle to continue the climb is so compelling.
