These are two playboards…certainly not finished paintings. The blue one ended up looking like flowers to me. The other one was just two pages in my journal. The idea is to just enjoy the materials and the paint and let go of any expectations…a good way to begin painting on a given day.

The blue one does look like flowers. It reminded me of Cezanne’s work. I love them both. The sketchbook pages look happy and full of energy.
I immediately saw flowers and a vase in the first one, I really like it. This all looks like fun and a great idea to get the juices flowing with no pressure. Good for you.

I love your play board! I see blue flowers also in a pretty creamy vase. It’s just beautiful! Looks like a finished painting to me! Your journal entry is fun! Lots of energy there! Was that the dot exercise? So fun!
Yes. It was. I enjoyed it…not having to think about what to do next…just adding color and lines. Fun!!
Before I read your comment about the flowers, I saw something more elemental. It seemed like shapes from the earth… and static heavy juxtaposed with moving and rhythms. I really like the grays with the tiny shot of color.
The second one from your journal is a riot of beautiful color, line and shape. Great inspiration for a painting…
I’m reminded of Cezanne, as well. The colors and design are rich and the piece of orange is a great accent. Love the journal! It inspired me to use more color while working in a sketchbook journal.
