I agree. The sky is lovely and the movement of the water is very well described. And no matter how long you paint, there’s always more to learn. You’re doing some beautiful work!
Join the fate of all of us… always trying to get it “right”, but it’s always a challenge. Of course there is also the question, what is right?
My favorite part of this painting is the big pieces. Your design is wonderful. If you cut out each of your big pieces, like a puzzle, they would fit together beautifully. The shapes, the values, and the colors are interesting and tell.
You have captured the real feeling of water falling over a cliff. Well done! Many times the more realistic rendering doesn’t get the “feeling” as strongly as a more “loose” handling
Your landscapes are so beautiful. You have done a great job with the water. With your lines you have defined the calm water above and then the drama of the fall.
This is very nice. You have captured a real feeling of movement and depth as the water flows down between the cliffs.
Les
Your skies are always so well done. I can feel the water going over the edge, I agree with Les on the movement.
