2. This is a collage that I did at the same time as the paintings from 1/23. I wasn’t happy with it. One of the sections was crooked and it really bothered me. I finally found a way to fix it. Even if I’m doing an abstract, things need to be either totally unstructured or straight. I guess we all have our quirks. (I have more than a few 😬.)
#3 Another collage. I made some textured papers on the gel plate and wanted to try them out. For the writing at the bottom (not straight!) I stenciled black acrylic onto tissue paper. The tissue paper almost disappears if you use matte medium as glue. On darker papers there’s a slight haze where the tissue was put down.
#2 intrigues me, I feel like I’m going to open a door into other worlds.

#3 is my favorite. The writing is so interesting, love how it disappears to the left.
I could only bring up #1 and I love the swirling, soft shapes and colors. It has great dimension even though it is abstract.
