This is my “First Signs of Spring” piece. There are some pressed flowers at the left, although it’s a little hard to tell in the photo.

Very cheerful. It feels like a story with the bird breaking through the gray of winter and the sun coming out.

I sense a sunny day with the bright yellow and the circled main character trying to decide which tree to nest in.
I love the way your suggested trees with strips of paper and dots to lead the eye… very happy and spring like on that bright green. Question: The bird in the circle I know is very important. what does the written word mean. It looks like French. I tried to look it up, but didn’t get a clear translation. It looks like it’s emerging from a gray snowy winter. How creative!
It is French, from a stencil. I don’t think it’s really meant to be read-it’s just an element of the whole. I have some paper called Euroscript that’s in German, I believe, but also not readable.
Sunny days…grey days..this says Spring. I like the repetition of circles that move your eye around…also the contrast of saturated and unsaturated color. You’re certainly doing great things with collage.
I have tried collage before and it is not easy. Your composition and colors are so creative and beautiful. It has been fun watching your style evolve.
The verticle lines speak of growth, renewal. The miracle of Spring! And the circles speak of our beautiful earth and the cycles of nature’s. Your piece is filled with hope!
