The new is full of happy accidents. I had to show you the collage paper I rubbed on which made the leaves…a very happy accident! To make a long story short, I got up this morning to exercise and was not happy with what I did yesterday. I turned it on its side and voila! Some rubbing and collage etc and I really like it. I’ve long thought about getting a distressed look but wasn’t sure how to do it. I am going to find it hard to put my oils away! This is what the leaves came from.Original

I guess you didn’t get the original. I’ll send it next week…a big difference.
I now see what you mean by a huge difference. While, I confess, I really like them both, the second has life and vitality. It also has a bit of an Asian feeling to me. It may be the leaves. The redo is rich in glowing colors, textures and atmosphere. Beautiful!
I think the original is bolder in color. I like the deep blue and red/violet color. The redo for me, is softer in it’s colors, shapes, lines and the addition of the vines.

The original is now up.
I really like the feeling, the spots of color and the texture on the right that makes me think of charred wood. Very nice.

I like the way the leaves lead me to the beautifully textured sold shape. Great colors too. I’m interested to see the original.
Beautiful colors. The splash of gold on the bottom and vine pull the viewer in. Lovely.

Seeing the original, I do like the colors a lot. But your redo has so much more interest and detail. The texture keeps me looking.
I feel like if you cut off the top third of the original I really love the vibrancy of the original.
The redo is flowing and delicate, like falling leaves. The original is strong and bold. I like them both, as well but am drawn to the redo.
