The reflections add a lot of interest, and the trees on the right help balance the design. One has soft peaceful light, and the other has very intense light. Both are very interesting.
There’s some pieces in each picture I like. The reflection of the mountains and sky in your re-do, then the color of the trees and brightness of the ground grass in the original.
These look like visits to a majestic mountain, on different days. Both are beautiful in their own way. The original has a very strong sense of light. The warm yellows glow against the complementary violets. That strongly dark area in the foreground backlit tree beautifully points you into the lake and mountain and enhance the feeling of strong light. It feels to me like late winter.
In the second painting I love your rich color! The sky feels like spring… You still have a yellow violet combo, but the tree on the right has taken the place of the dark value tree in the first painting, as the vehicle to point toward the mountain and it has spring written on it. I can even see some flowers perhaps in the grass?
Oh my! At first i was drawn to the redo…the depth of color in the mountains and water. However, as I looked, I really like the way you’ve painted the trees and grasses in the original. Both are very atmospheric.
I like the brightness and feeling of the mountains in the last one.

They capture such diverse moods and seasons! I love the summer one. The rich blues, flowers and sun upon the trees is renders such a peaceful scene.
