This is a 36×36” painting I’ve been working on…its had many iterations. My intention is to do very abstracted flowers with paint and collage. We’ll see what happens. I welcome any advice. I’ve found this very difficult to do.

I also like the color blocks in the background. I’m impressed that you can work on such a large piece! I would find that intimidating. I look forward to seeing what you do with it.
It looks like a great beginning to me. Your shapes and value choices keep my eye moving. The yellow/green, red /violette beautiful. Who needs flowers? Alright… maybe a blossom or two. Great beginning… As an aside… It’s interesting that online a photo of a 36 x 36 looks no different than a 6×6. It seems harder to keep a large painting simple, and yet I really like those paintings. Big shapes are powerful. How do we keep a big shape interesting, without breaking up it’s integrity?
I too am looking forward to your developments…

The background is perfect! I like the blocks of color and the smaller light rectangles work well.

That is so smart to begin with the background and sculpt the foreground around that. I love your colors and look forward to seeing how it evolves.
Very much like your color choices & shapes. Very much looking forward to see how your painting evolves.
