Good morning and happy Friday! This is a scene I’ve been waiting to paint for years but never seem to have time. Small gouache sketches (8×8) with limited palette and a floppy brush let me throw it down with zero expectations!

So glad you finally painted it, for it’s terrific! The light upon the boat is powerful. The way the boat is cradled by the massive beams is so amazing. Paintings tell wonderful stories.
Wow Margaret… all your design work is paying off. This is great! I love the pieces you designed and the simplification of shapes. The strong diagonals move you in and around the boat and back. And, the whipped cream on the cake are those pieces of snow on the foreground. Wonderful!

The light on the boat brings warmth to what might be a boat stored for a cold winter. Very nice
