I chose a LeRoy Neiman painting and selected a part with eyes that I separated (I did not paint a copy)and spent time studying. It was interesting and inspiring and I thought about it as I was painting outside on location Thursday. I found myself going more toward the abstract even though that wasn’t my original intention. This was a good exercise.
That would be really difficult. He has such a unique style. Zeroing in on a small piece does make you pay attention, doesn’t it. Very interesting.
