I had an amazing day this week meeting up with Susan to paint in the blueberry barrens in Columbia. It was so wonderful to spend time together, paint and share those amazing reds! Such a great ending to plein air painting season!

I remember seeing the barrens when they looked like this. It’s just beautiful. I love how your colors are muted in the distance and deeper in the foreground. Those touches of deep green are perfect!
Brings back great memories from being their in the fall.

You captured that field beautifully! I love the movement of the reds and greens as they swirl back from warm reds to duller cool reds in the distance. Your sky is a beautiful complement! BTW, I asked Elana about the different colors that they turn, and she said that there are over two hundred varieties of wild blueberries, One variety can be growing a few feet away from another type, Crazy!
