Simple pear! Hah! But I love your changes in color and value, and the background really gives the pear shape and a place to sit! The mugs are very cool! I love how they disappear into the background and reappear. The textures add so much, too. I think #2 is my fav!
I agree, the way the mugs disappear in places is really interesting. The rim is clearly defined to name the object, but it leaves me wondering. You have some of the same quality in your pear, and the color of the background plus the tiny bits floating there makes it feel joyful to me. I love them both!
Beautiful pear! I love the activity in your knife/brush work. It seems to swirl over the surface of the pear giving it form. I agree with Deb above… the dancing yellows give it a feeling of movement, playfulness and keep my eye moving.
#2 is just wonderful! I love all your lost and found lines and the boldness of the color! It has just enough realism, but makes (to me) a very interesting abstracted painting.
Your pear looks like it’s twirling and dancing! Your mugs are amazing! Even though they are abstract, I feel as though I could reach in and pick them up to take a sip of tea.

Cool, I really like 2. They’re so vibrant and juicy.
