Number 1-I bought some natural, eco friendly watercolors to try out. Most are from an independent seller on eBay, some are schminke naturals. This was just a test sheet to try them out-plus a few ink embellishments.
Number 2-after VanGogh. I copied one of his watercolors, “Boy Cutting Grass with a Sickle”.
Number 3-final collage in the series I started with the class.

Interesting eco friendly watercolors. I’ve been using what I found non toxic or less toxic for a long time, wondering what the difference is in the pigments and base.
I’ve never seen that Van Gogh before thanks for adding to my Van Gogh knowledge.
I just love the first watercolor. It is so ethereal, beautiful in it’s softness. I have never seen the Van Gogh, either. This is an especially tender one, and his watercolor style is different from his oil paintings. The three circles in the collage are so cool, and look as though they are magnifying the paper underneath.
The pastel colors in the first are very soft & calming. As in the 2 comments above I had never seen that painting of Van Gogh’s. Great detain in the man’s drawing. The 3rd post, you never disappoint in your collages. Wonderful shapes & colors
How fun to try out some new watercolors. You never know when that new product will elevate your work to a new level…. Think Terry, and her new item we would all rush out and buy!!! Van Gogh’s watercolor is so different from his oils, neat! Love your collage, of course!
I know you were just experimenting with the watercolors…but goes to show you how spontaneity can be so delighting! I love looking at these little squares with their lines, and squiggles and script etc.
I never think of Van Gogh and watercolor… It’s so different from his oil. I wonder when it was painted…
#3 has delicious color play and happy marks!
1881. Very early in his career.
It looks like you really had fun with those watercolors. There’s something so freeing about just playing and not trying to make a painting.
Your collages are always so interesting …I love the way you put them together! Your papers are also all so interesting and different.
I love pattern and we finish x the challenge, I want to make some papers to add to my paintings. It’s all fun!
