Working from life that is constantly changing has been a challenge, but a lot of fun. The sky really is amazing. Not being a naturally fast painter, I’ve had to hugely speed up my game and stretch my memory/imagination. These are acrylic, oil and gouache.

It would be easy to spend painting skies forever and never have to move from the same spot! I especially like #2 and #4 with parts of the land giving them so much depth.

I could only view #1 but I love the way the sun is pouring onto the landscape. Your brushstrokes seem to draw the sun and sky energy onto the earth. Wonderful!
So many skies, so little time! You captured the essence of each, I’d say. The last one looks like an explosion of color, and it’s my favorite.
Sue, I only got #1. I’ve missed some on the others’ as well. That said, #1 is certainly very dramatic. It seems like to good idea to focus on one thing and learn as much as you can from it. I’ll look forward to see all those changing skies!
Oh I’m so sad, I could only see part of the first one. Maybe you can re-post them? I love how your color choices and brush strokes make such a dramatic sky. So pretty!
