So I think sketch was raw umber with just gamsol. Subsequent days were 25%stand oil/gamsol, 50/50 stand oil/gamsol and final pass just paint. Please scroll down.

Wow, I’m impressed! It’s really interesting to see all you put into your paintings of people. I can see their forms emerging from your initial sketch. The end result is great, and reminds me of John Singer Sargent’s work.
What strikes me is the stunning contrast between the quiet, peaceful figures upon the glowing red carpet. It’s a great painting!
It’s so interesting to watch the steps from foundation to finish. Wow! Very instructive. I’m particularly drawn to how you painted the girls legs on the left. It’s such a difficult perspective to paint and your rendition is gorgeous!
