For something different…I bought a book called “Painting Imaginary Flowers” by Sandrine Pelissier. This was the first one I did. It’s fun and the results are wonky, imperfect paintings. You basically paint a background and then look for flowers and a container in what you’ve painted.
Before I read you description I saw Christmas and poinsettias!
What a neat idea! So fun! I see a beautiful Christmas arrangement. I love how you carved out your flowers and the little squiggles in the leaves are so pretty!
I love the idea and am going to give it a try! I agree with Les and Maureen.
Very interesting process… and beautiful outcome! I’m a little dense, however. It sounds like you painted the background finding shapes in your negative shapes etc. … Are you painting over a random collage of papers?
