1. Just wanted to say, everyone here is so talented and I love and appreciate all of your comments. I’m fairly new to painting and self taught outside of a few lessons online and in person. There always seems like so much to learn! So any feedback even super critical is appreciated!

I like both of them. I do keep going back to the first one, it feels exotic (not sure that’s the right word) to me and I’m pulled into it, wondering what is living on the earth and in the water.

I’m drawn to the water in the first painting. I find the colors very natural.
I especially like the first one, too. Love the textures you got, the grasses and water reflections…. Feels tropical to me!
I agree with the above. The first one reminds me of Florida, or possibly Africa. I like the tall trees and you have beautiful reflections in the water. The second one has a more northern feeling, and I especially like your sky.
I think #1 is both beautiful and interesting. It has such a strong design. The repetition of the trunk shapes… each negative space the same but different, sets up an interesting abstract design. Your horizontal brushwork works so well against the verticals. My eye keeps traveling around your painting.

The reflection in the first one draw you right in. I also like the loose brushstrokes between the tall trees. Its a nice contrast to the grasses below.
Your first painting is just beautiful! Your water is SO well done. They both have such a peaceful feeling to them. Your work is just lovely.
