1. I attempted to paint the cliffs I started late last week. But I’m having a really hard time getting the colors values and tones throughout to my liking. Especially of the cliffs and sand. Just not sure how to get it right. The blue blobs on left are supposed to be lifeguard stations 😂

However, I continued to struggle so I decided to work on something else in the mean time.
This is a painting I started today but it’s definitely not finished. I used a primed panel board for the first time and feel like the paints are taking a super long time to dry enough where I can go in and add to it without muddying it up. It’s a really interesting surface to paint on. Kind of fun trying something new!
I really like the feeling of number 3. Simple, clean, nice values. It all depends on what you’re looking for and if you need to do a lot more with it. I like it the way it is, for me it’s a feeling of realism going toward the abstract.

I agree with Les. Number three has a warm, happy mood. Looks like a place I’d like to be. I also agree about trying new things. It can be challenging, but so much fun!
