My painting of choice is “a wall” by Winslow Homer. I love his work, but this one spoke to me because of the way he handled the sky and wall: such big pieces of understated neutrals. That is what I attempted… the stone wall, but underdone everything. I was happy, felt I learned a lot from this challenge.

I love your big pieces. It looks like a successful experience.

This is so pretty! Your understated large shapes made the flowers, wall, and foliage in front really stand out. I’d say this was very successful!
Well done! I love homers watercolors and you took the pieces you likes and made them yours with the loose brushstrokes and amazing greens. The flower pops
Beautiful Rose. I love the way you simplified your shapes and put in those strong darks…. the same way Homer did. The loose dancing light on the wall very effective.
Sometimes less is more and I think you demonstrated that here. The suggestion of a wall and the darks greens bring you back into the forest. I always love your green!
A wonderful interpretation of Homers “Wall.” Beautiful colors and your flower pops.
You captured Homer beautifully! Wow!
