I had to go to Home Depot to get a plant since there’s nothing but mud here. Colors were pretty bleak and muddy but I found a tube of old holland ‘violet gray’ that was a game changer for the background!

Bright lovely and spring. Just think what you have to look forward to when things do emerge.

You portrayed it beautifully, even if it’s not what you have outside. I like that background/sky color a lot!
I love this❤ – wonderful bright colors, brushstrokes and shapes to form the petals. My eyes go right to the brightest spots. Well worth the trip to Home Depot.
What a beautiful dance of colors…they really say Spring! The angle from which you painted makes them all look uplifted and joyous. The top light looks great… I would think you were outdoors. There’s a lot more at work than violet gray, but it definitely framed the show!
You can tell you enjoyed painting these ranunculus. They are all outstanding but your eye goes right to the bright orange/yellow one which is set off by the grey violet. Lovely!
Your painting has such depth and joy! It’s a symphony!!!
