Good morning and happy new year! My January ‘challenge’ is to revisit some of my summer paintings that didn’t work out and revise them based on the feeling of place I was trying to convey. The first is a wonderful home if a very kind woman who lets me paint there.

You are fortunate to have such a beautiful setting available to you-and your paintings show the various moods of the house beautifully.
Those rich darks on the house and the vegetation backlit with blue make a huge transition happen. It feels like late day…and the blues make those oranges even more powerful. I also like the way you simplified the trees to both side of the house. They unify those darks so well. Bravo! Another one in the save pile. Get a frame now!

Your new attempt has given such a feeling of welcome. Those chairs are so inviting, I want to join you there!

I am drawn to the chairs, as well! You have made the house so warm and inviting!
Great transformation. Your added detail has brought life to the picture.
