I love to see the individual differences in the styles and colors when two artists are painting the same/similar subject. It looks like you and adrian were at the same place.
The first thing that struck me as I viewed this painting, was the beautiful way you treated the water. The subtle shadows in the background and your soft edges around the edges of the water make the bright glowing light around the boat really pop and showcase your center of interest. Your grayed down colors in the distance also let your bright blues by the boat sing. I enjoyed your loose texture on the beach. Well done!
I really like the white peeking through the trees and the translucency of the water. Frankly, I’m not sure if its an oil or a watercolor. Probably Oil, but it looks like very much like a watercolor, especially the water.

This one reminds me of Florida for some reason. The subtle reflections of the trees are very well done!
I also get a feeling of somewhere other than New England, interesting. Something between the overall palette and structure of the foliage.

Nice colors and shadow patterns , like the trees and water .
Your all correct., looks like the colors of the Everglades. He should have added an alligator or python.

I love the water, as well. The surrounding trees and foreground are great, too. The light upon the rocks are so neat.
