Tried to get more texture into the ground…ended up wiping it off. Should have left it alone…..as usual!

Jane it’s been so interesting to watch your painting evolve. I love the contrast you’ve made in the foreground to the background. I look at the woods a lot, and the way you did the distant lit trees is gorgeous! I know you’re working on the foreground, but it is beautiful just the way it is. The way those roots are clinging into the hillside forming patterns is powerful. Maybe your done?
This painting has been fun to watch you develop.I love the feeling of depth you have gotten, and I am amazed that you don’t get mud as you continue going back into the paint!

I love the way the roots are holding the hill I can feel the connection to the earth

This is not an easy composition but you succeeded in keeping the light coming through. I absolutely love the rock with moss. It looks so solid
Such a strong composition and contrast, Jane. You keep the eye moving. Love those roots!

You have captured the serenity of the woods and the dignity of the trees. Love it!
It makes me feel like I’m actually there, walking through the woods.
