You definitely nailed the rock shapes! You tackled some difficult ones but my fav is the McClellan park. You really got that shape and the solidness of it. So great to paint with you .
Thanks so much for your feedback Margaret. I loved McClellan Park ! I am bound and determined to read about and practice rocks, albeit Connecticut rocks.
It was wonderful to paint with you again. You are such a talented painter and I love to hear about the workshops you have taken and the latest studies you have undertaken.
What a great collection of rock paintings. You wove them into some wonderfully strong designs. My favorite is your fourth. You captured some difficult subtle lighting into an allover feeling. Rocks are usually strong voices… You made these rocks seem a part of the pushing waters and cloudy sky.
Susan, Thank you for your comments. I tried to look at their shapes. Rocks were my fascination this year and I will continue to try and capture them. Enjoyed a wonderful week!
Sue,
It looks like you had a really successful week and a great time painting.
Les
Les,
Thank you for your comments. It was a wonderful week and we did have a great time at some beautiful Maine vistas. Missed you for sure!
I love the way you bend the lines with your brush strokes, and then don’t, when you want a calmer/different feel. I wish you could’ve stayed longer, but I wish we all could have.
Patty, Thank you for your comments and I loved your paintings also…my fav is your big sky and loved your rocks…you are a rock star! I wished I could have stayed longer, too. Next year….
My favorites are 1& 4, you have a way with rocks. Well done.
Adrienne, Thank you for your comments….rocky attempts but I am going to keep trying. Your work is amazing and I love that you and Fred are sharing this together.
Sue, it takes such observation and patience to do rock as well as you have, but I’m sure you know this. I love the last one…the colors, texture, and contrast of the rocks, not to mention the looseness of your strokes. It’s obvious that you were having fun!
Sharon, Thank you for your comments and appreciate your feedback. I was trying to observe shapes and then the light kept changing and the shapes were changing too…I want to continue this study. I was having fun! I so enjoyed your 6 x 16 paintings. It was wonderful to be able to paint with you.
What a wonderful privilege to paint with such talented and seasoned artists. Thanks for sharing from your plethora of experience to my beginner abilities. I love to see the vistas and objects that catch your fancy – to see your perspective and what was important for you to capture and make your statements.
Thank you all! Paint on….
So impressed with your work this year! You show how interested you are in rocks, they are beautifully handled. Each painting feels like Maine, but in a totally different day! Really nice!
