I started out copying a vase of flowers with the intention of abstracting them somewhat. This is what I ended up with…nothing like the flowers. I need to work on the leaves and perhaps do some mark making and anything else you can suggest. It is definitely funky!

Shar what a fun painting! I like the way you tilted the vase…the angle really sets up the shapes. The purples and gray greens very beautiful against those flowers. I agree with Margaret… I don’t think you need to do anything. The textures and little pieces are already very interesting.

So neat! I love it this way, but your marks always add something more. Too bad you can’t try some marks and then erase them if you don’t like them!
I also like the way you angled the vase and it’s a nice rich deep purple. I also like how you did your background shapes and varying colors.
Wonderful pieces…and angles…..you’ve created such an atmosphere about this with just a little movement of the main object!
